Exclusive eight-seat sushi omakase showcasing New Zealand kai moana paired with a premium beverage experience by Chef Makoto Tokuyama of Three-Hat Cocoro and NZ Top 100 Sommelier Tony Suarez.
Cocoro, led by chef-owner Makoto Tokuyama, is an award-winning Japanese restaurant in Ponsonby, Auckland, renowned for its contemporary Japanese cuisine, seasonal degustation menus, and exceptional seafood. The unassuming location on Brown Street, Ponsonby should not fool anyone - Cocoro has retained 3 Hats in the Cuisine Good Food Guide since 2018 - the highest possible award.
You can expect dishes to include ingredients such as toro + akami southern Bluefin tuna, Haku kingfish, Kagoshima A 5 Wagyu beef tataki, Hokkaido scallops with Levin yuzu peel, black foot paua with Kimo sauce, kina and ikura salmon caviar.
Cocoro, meaning "heart and soul" in Japanese, reflects the restaurant's commitment to thoughtful hospitality and meticulous cuisine.

- Allergies & Dietary Requirements: This is a specially curated omakase showcasing seasonal New Zealand kaimoana. Due to the nature of the menu, we are unable to accommodate food allergies, dietary requirements or ingredient substitutions.
- Beverage Pairing: The ticket price includes a beverage pairing. Guests who do not drink alcohol can be provided with a non-alcoholic pairing with advance notice to Cocoro. The ticket price remains the same for the non-alcoholic pairing.
- Seating & Arrival Time: This is an exclusive eight-seat event with one seating and a set start time. The omakase and beverage pairing will be served progressively to all guests together. Please ensure you are seated by the advertised start time. If you arrive late, you may miss any food and beverage pairings that have already been served, and we may not be able to serve them again.
- Capacity & Booking: Limited to eight guests only. Advance ticket purchase is required.
- For events at Auckland FEAST powered by Mastercard we may not be able to guarantee seating arrangements. At some events you and your group may be seated next to others - after all these events are designed to be social!
